Maria is a bilingual clinical family nurse practitioner. She graduated from UTEP with a Master of Science in Nursing. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a bachelor’s in liberal arts with a major in Psychology, and a minor in Sociology. She has 10 years of experience as an RN in various specialties: besides nurse in acute care for the elderly, charge nurse and assistant director of geriatric behavioral unit, and chairperson of hospital wide fall prevention committee at Providence Memorial Hospital. Additional clinical skills include wound care, bedside nurse in gastroenterology and geriatric unit, medical surgical. YISD school nurse, COVID 19 YISD hotline agent.
